 WWwelWelcome

Welcome  everyone to a new school year in Ahane N.S. Welcome to the school website.

It is a very busy time of year again, welcoming in the new junior infants, settling into the new classrooms and getting to know each other after a long summer break. Please contact the school if you need to update us with your pohone numbers, addresses etc.

The school building project is progressing well and we look forward to opeing our 7th classroom in the near future. Fundraising is a priority again this year to support the costs of running the school.

We are currently developing a new school website. Until this new website goes live, the updated school policies will be available on this website.  All  AParents are receiving updates from us via the Ahane School News Newsletter, which includes a report from the Board of Management.

The Anti Bullying Policy, ratified June 2016 by the Board of Management, is on the website in the Policies Section. This policiy was developed in consultation with pupils, teachers, parents, the Parent Association and the Board of Management. Thank you to all who were involved in the focus groups and who gave of their time to support the development of this policy.

We are revising the Healthy Eating Policy this term. The draft of the policy has been issued to the Parent Association for review. Following a consultation process the policy will be ratified and circulated via this website.

Medication Policies this year are done on an individual basis. If there are any changes in your child's health, please contact me to review your child's needs.

Parent Teacher Meetings will take place this year in November. We will be in touch with you about these in October.

Yours sincerely,

Liz Kiely,

Principal.

Our Mission Statement

Ahane N.S. is a centre of teaching and learning. We strive to develop a positive learning and teaching environment where children are encouraged to develop to the best of their potential in their emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual capacities.

We encourage the development of self-esteem, consideration and tolerance of others. We aim that all children become independent, confident and responsible individuals.

We aspire that the school environment would be an inclusive, stimulating, enjoyable, fulfilling and holistic experience for all children. Within the Catholic ethos of the school, we hope that the school community, involving parents, guardians, teachers, special needs assistants, staff, priests, neighbours and past pupils continues to work together in harmony and solidarity for the benefit and fulfilment of all of the children.

We desire that all children will develop as responsible
well-balanced individuals equipped with all the necessary life skills and realise the importance of values such as love, respect, sharing, honesty and caring for others.
